Baja California’s sun-soaked playground of Los Cabos has no shortage of ultimate sand castles. Adding to the extravagant options last summer was the Ty Warner Mansion, a 28,000-square-foot villa on a pristine stretch of beach at Las Ventanas al ParaĆso. The $35,000-per-night villa—the brainchild of hospitality’s king of one-upmanship (and Las Ventanas’ owner), Beanie Babies founder Ty Warner—features a retractable glass ceiling, a 328-foot infinity-edge pool, two master suites, a tequila library, a personal spa, and a rooftop terrace.
A few miles south, the 22-acre Chileno Bay Resort & Residences opened in February with impressive accommodations of its own, including 32 spacious villas with private terraces. The Auberge-managed resort also includes a 10-treatment-room spa and a restaurant from French Laundry alum Yvan Mucharraz. More still is on the horizon: The Luxury Collection’s 33-acre Solaz Los Cabos debuts this winter, while a Four Seasons resort and Ritz-Carlton Reserve are both expected by next year.
