A hotel is toasting its Guinness World Record for an unbeatable selection of 1,031 whiskies. And, impressively, the world-beating figure is just part of an array which, boosted by owner Dylan Wren’s personal stock, tops 2,500 bottles.
The whiskies include malts from every working distillery in Scotland and many hard-to-find bottles, including the bar’s most expensive - a 25-year-old Lagavulin. Guinness World Records has officially acknowledged that the Glenesk has the most varieties of whisky commercially available. The record had been held since 2005 by businessman Forbes Robertson, who had 800 varieties available at his Millionayr Casino, in Ayr.
