France's capital city landed the No. 1 spot in a global ranking of 80 cities – chosen for their reputation of being graceful and stylish in either fashion or architecture. The ranking from Zalando, a Berlin-based online fashion merchandise store, considered cities' scores in three categories: fashion factors, urban factors and accessibility.
Fashion was the highest weighted category with points awarded for the amount of fashion schools in a city, as well as a city's designers, fashion events and how it was perceived by fashion journalists. Urban factors included the number of overnight visitors per year, points of entry by transit, UNESCO cultural heritage sites, cleanliness and how the city was perceived by architecture journalists. Lastly, the lowest weighted accessibility score assigned points based on a city's affordability.
