“Stories of Greek hospitality” 2017

 Celestyal Cruises’ Greek Summer Festival will launch in June on board the company’s ships and include “Stories of Greek hospitality”, Full Moon Parties and music events that will include performances by a variety of artists, from the traditional bouzouki-legend Thanasis Polykandriotis to rapper BO, who attended this year’s Greek “Survivor”.


For the third season in a row, the company’s “Stories of Greek hospitality” will introduce passengers to the well-known aromas, flavors, sounds and icons of Greece. Celestyal Cruises invites passengers on the Celestyal Olympia and the Celestyal Nefeli to enjoy firsthand the Celestyal Inclusive Experience.


“From June through August on 3-, 4- or 7-day cruises, passengers will experience in genuine Greek entertainment and authentic Greek Enogastronomy while experiencing the singular beauty of the Aegean,” the company said in an announcement.
During the 3-day Iconic Aegean cruise to Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Rhodes, Heraklion and Santorini on June 23, popular singer and Greek X-FACTOR 2017 judge Giorgos Papadopoulos will take the stage on the Celestyal Olympia for a special live performance.
On June 30 Lampsi Radio 92.3 DJ Nikos Markoglou will entertain passengers with contemporary Greek hit music and on July 10, Greek vocalist Nikiforos will perform for passengers on a 4-day Idyllic Aegean cruise visiting Syros, Cesme, Kos, Ios, Santorini and Lavrion. Celestyal passengers will also be treated to a performance by singer Eirini Papadopoulou and popular rapper BO, who attended this year’s Greek “Survivor” reality competition television franchise.
Again this season, Celestyal Cruises brings Greek composer and bouzouki-legend, Thanasis Polykandriotis to its stages. He will enchant passengers with his renditions of traditional Greek music on June 2, August 18, August 25 and August 28 on 3- and 4-day Iconic Aegean cruises on the Celestyal Olympia, on June 16 on the 3-day Euphoric Aegean cruise, and on July 17 and 31 during the 4-day Idyllic Aegean cruises on the Celestyal Nefeli.
Traditional Greek culture will also be showcased by Celestyal Cruises. The Lyceum Club of Greek Women will don traditional folk costumes and take the stage on June 9 during the 3-day Euphoric Aegean and again on July 21, July 28, August 11 and August 14 during 3- and 4-day Iconic Aegean cruises.
Moreover, Full Moon Parties with cocktails and good music will take place on board and under the stars of the Aegean sky. On July 7 during the 3-day Idyllic Aegean cruise, passengers will enjoy a night of lounge music with DJ Nikos Garavelas of GRadio and on August 7, during the 4-day Iconic Aegean cruise, DJ Evi Sidiropoulou of Best Radio 92.6 will hit the decks.
Celestyal Cruises will also host Science Festivals on June 16 and July 14 on its Iconic Aegean cruises that will allow passengers to try their own experiments using common, everyday ingredients. The themed cruise “Stories of Greek Heritage – Culture & Enogastronomy”, which focuses on Greek flavors and aromas, will again be held during September, October and November.
