In 1747, Jean de Galimard, Lord of Seranon, founded the Parfumerie Galimard in Grasse, France. Grasse is known around the world as the birthplace of traditional perfumery and aromatic scents. Galimard was founded to supply the court of Louis XIV, the much beloved King of France, with unique formulas of perfumes. The source of these rich fragrances came directly from nature’s pure essences; jasmine, rose, lavender, orange flower and tuberose, mixed under the expert direction of a Master Perfumer or “Le Nez” (The Nose) as he is known today at the Galimard studios. As word spread from the King’s court about these amazing perfumes, the Parfumerie Galimard soon became the perfumer of choice across the European continent.
